Our History

The Norfolk Food & Drink Festival was founded in 2004, as a non-profit organisation dedicated to celebrating the burgeoning food and drink industry in Norfolk.

What began as a weekend festival with two or three flagship events has since burgeoned into a 6 week food and drink extravaganza, incorporating over 600 events across the county! So after a record 2014, including reaching the finals of the EDP Visit Norfolk Tourism Awards in two categories and winning the award for Best Event of the Year, we decided it was time to evolve!

So as we enter 2015, we are re-branding to Norfolk Food & Drink Limited. We will become a membership organisation and we will operate year-round, instead of being restricted to what has become the 6 week festival – although September will remain our festival flagship month.

However, despite all the changes, including a new look, our objectives remain the same:-

  • To encourage in the public a better understanding of the importance of Norfolk food to our economy, environment, health and well-being, countryside and agriculture.
  • To promote the event as a destination festival and encourage visitors to come to Norfolk at a time when the tourism season is slowing down.
  • To promote opportunities for the food and hospitality industries to engage with the public.

So please do get involved! It is only the passion and interest of those in the industry and the general public who have supported which has made this growth possible!
