Norfolk Food Festival 2009 - Events

Now in its ninth year, the EDP Norfolk Food Awards are renowned as thre oscars of the local food industry. Held at thge Holiday Inn, Norwich and compered by the BBC's Susie Fowler-Watt, there are ten awards being presented, including Outstanding Achievement, Best Farm Shop, Chef of the Future and Best Norfolk Menu. Organised by the town's Slow Food movement. "We're having a launch at the high school, with food cooked by students and using produce from withina ten mile radius," says organiser Liz Jones. There's also a cookery theatre in the town hall, the award-winning farmers' market and a Big Slow Breakfast on Sunday morning. For more details email Lizathungate@aol.com
October 2 — 11.00 - 13.00
It is really hard to make a jelly that will stand taller than 10cms. Use your imagination and see if you can build the tallest jelly using only edible materials.

October 3 — 09.30 - 16.30
The public can sample up to 10 butcher's sausages and vote for their favourite. There will also be a blind tasting with the celebrity chefs taking part in the Cookery Theatre and this year we will also include the cookery theatre audience. There will be two winners, the best of the public vote and the best from the blind tasting.Click here for further information
