Produced In Norfolk Taste the View, part of the EDP Bidwells Norfolk Food Festival 19th September – 4th October 2009
An organic farm in Broadland is giving away free samples of organic produce , to celebrate the Produced In Norfolk Taste the View campaign, part of the EDP Bidwells Norfolk Food Festival.
Growing cereal grains, fresh vegetables, beef, lamb and eggs all using organic methods, Salle Organics is virtually self sufficient with even feed for the livestock grown on the farm.
A team of 20 local people, who are passionate about organic principals, and the food they produce, work on the farm which runs a local box scheme and supplies shops across East Anglia with organic food.
The business is growing. A new Farm kitchen opened in January this year with the daughter of the stock manager Lisa Johnson making a delicious range of organic pies, quiches, soups and cakes.
Lynn Carter sales manager says “My favourite used to be egg custard tart, but now Lisa’s lovely lemon tart has taken over”
An old barn has been renovated this summer and will open as the new Farm Shop on Friday 11th September selling everything produced on the farm. Free samples of all kinds of Salle Organic produce will be available throughout the festival fortnight.
